Mayor of Keighley Civic Service

Sunday 31st July 2011

My daughter Emily and I attended the civic service of the Mayor of Keighley Town Council  today. it was a fabulous afternoon where we met Keighley Mayor Michael Westerman, Mayoress and other Councillors of Keighley Town Council. Mayors and consorts of neighbouring parishes were also present together. The ceremony was also honoured by the presence of the Lord Mayor of Bradford Metrolpolitan District Council, Cllr Naveeda Ikram and consort daughter Alisha Salam  .

Neighbouring parishes also attending included Stenton, Normanton - Cllr Denton Jones and South Kirkby and Moorthorpe - Cllr Patricia Evans.

We paraded from the the Town Hall down the main road to the Keighley Shared Church. During the service we enjoyed readings and an excellent sermon. We had fantastic hymns including; Guide me o thou great redeemer and Jerusalem. The event concluded with refreshments giving time to mingle with the other civic dignitaries and guests.
